Spec for gaming pc.

Go to solution Solved by jaslion,

For just gaming the 7800x3d is the best chip out there.

Also a lot of overspending going on specifically the motherboard. Can easily save 300 there and notice NO DIFFERENCE. A board only has to be good enough in the sense it has the ports you need and can power the cpu properly.

Also for rgb fans you already have 4 if you want to fill the top just buy some more of the same or get some arctic p12 rgb/bionix. The asus fans are low end and not silent.

Double the storage, best gaming cpu and a 4080 super.

If ya wanna save some money get a 7900xtx.

Since you didnt specify what you want to play or what res I did not optimize it for that.

Also if you want white cables a rm850 white is very little more

I am having confusion about going for intel or amd. As simply everyone says that amd is best for gaming but when i check all that benchmark scores it perform less than intel chips. I don't know which one to pick.

Btw this is my current picks on part picker https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/ddcLQP  .

Well each architecture and workload is different, hence why people tend to ask the question of what they will be using their pc for the most part. Gaming? Rendering? programming?

AMD has offered an insane upgrade path with AM4 and so far they seem to guarantee that AM5 will get chips until 2027. Intel on the other hand rarely offered more than two CPUs per socket.

So, what are you looking to be doing?

Where are you looking at benchmarks? Specifically the X3D chips outperform Intel chips in most games

The 7800X3D is on average 8% faster than the 13700K while consuming 1/3 the power and having cheaper motherboard options. Unless you only play one of the handful of games where the 13700K is faster (it's mainly just Starfield and FFXIV), the 7800X3D makes significantly more sense as a gaming-only CPU.

The 7800x3d is typically the fastest CPU in games. It depends on the exact game, but take a look at a summary of performance. It also pulls a whole lot less power than most intel chips in game. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i9-14900ks/18.html. Drop the liquid cooler and extra thermal past(Cooler comes witth it) and it should fit in the same budget.

Typically anything faster than 4070TI/Super and/or 7800/XTX should be perfectly fit any x3D CPU. This, and adequately fast dimms.

not gonna sugarcoat it that list is pretty awful from the 13700k instead of a 7800x3d (best cpu for gaming) to the ridicolously pricey board then the horrifically overpriced samsung ssd thatll lose to a crucial t700 and doesnt perform that much better than its cheaper competition then theres also the overpriced ram thatll probably come with trash samsung ics due to being a higher cl bin so worse performance and when cpus that require faster rams come along that samsung wont clock past 7000 so you might even have to replace the rams even if you dont need more ram capacity

and most egregious of all the warrantyless noisy and ridicolously overpriced rme, not bad enough that it has a noisy fan (look up rme fan noise) and only 7 year warranty but the rm850x is literally cheaper (165cad) and a superior psu with a 10 year warranty and the rmx is already pretty bad value considering you can get a 1000w deepcool pxg for 160cad and that still has a 10 year warranty whilst being 1000w but atleast the rmx still tolerable with a 10 year warranty and no fan noise complaints

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Y4fZYN

7800x3d + 4080s + 32gb 6000c30

7800x3d will destroy the 13700k in most games especially if you play games like factorio that massively benifit from the extra cache

tighter cl rams means itll perform better at xmp and when cpus start requiring faster rams you dont need to upgrade rams cause you can just tune em to whatever speed you need them to be

doubled ssd to 4tb whilst still being a high end dram gen4 like the 990 pro

upgraded gpu from 4070tis to 4080s

upgraded psu to a 1000w unit with a 10 year warranty

board now has white accents so it wont look too jarring in a white build, i think itd probably look better with black psu cables rather than white psu cables to match the boards black pcb but youll have to see for yourself as this is a matter of personal preference

theres still some budget left so if youd like to use your original case choice or want an aio then go ahead, that stuffs personal preference
