Help with a wireless network solution. (Pretty clueless.)

Hey guys!

 

Was hoping that someone would be able to help me with a small issue. We're getting  new wireless network set up for our house. I'd really like to just set up one (maybe two maximum) wireless hub(s) for the house. Its about... 10x10m, up and down, with brick walls for the signal to pass through.

 

Can anyone give suggestions for good, reliable, wireless hubs and a router to for fill this purpose?

i am not sure how big your house is but i got 2 E900 with ddwrt set up on my house which is 2 floors and they work perfectly fine and i got coverage on everywhere.

Linksys WRT 1900AC?

Junk, the stock firmware is by far the worst I've even seen and it doesn't support 3rd party firmware yet plus it's useless and over priced unless you plan on using a E-Sata drive with it.

ASUS N66u would probably be my recommendation, it's pretty cheap, especially for it's performance and range.

Greetings,

 

I have a Router downstairs and the computers upstairs are more or less directly above it. they get an OK signal but my wife wants to get up her office upstairs and she does video conferences as part of her job so she needs a 100% solid connection. 

Are range extenders any good? if not, what are my options? would replacing the stock antennas on her adapter increase her connection or are aftermarket Antennas just hype?
