It might help if you told us what kind of CPU you're trying to cool.

If the NHD15 is struggling then air would appear to be a problem.

IMO....

you should pull air in from the front and exit it out the rear, and possibly the top.

make sure you have more fans pulling in than pushing out so as to create positive pressure in the case, this prevents air coming in where you don't want it.

aim to push the GPU heat straight out the case. If your CPU is struggling with the NHD15 I would expect it's because of passive heat from your GPU

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

Try just slowing down the top & rear fans in relation to the rest. Thing is you don't want to be pulling in air from the bottom of the back, you want to be slowly pushing air out there.

Well, you can still do that, but have the exhaust fans (back and top) run slower than the intake fans (front). Same results, and you can achieve it pretty easily with a dedicated software like FanControl.

As far as your initial question, the NHD15 shouldn't have issues cooling this CPU 🤔

What do your temps look like?

this is while playing escape from tarkov a game i have no issues with but if i run cinebench ,multicore or play greyzone warefare it makes my cpu thermal throttle hard

If your D15 is struggling, it's likely because you have made a mistake. I can cool my 12700k with a U12A. What are your temps at idle and under heavy load like Cinebench? Check these:

  1. thermal paste not applied correctly;
  2. protective plastic on cooler's cold plate not removed;
  3. cooler not mounted correctly;
  4. fan curve too weak;
  5. Case fans are messing up airflow.

Photo of your PC would help.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

removed plastic from cooler i mounted it solidly but i could be wrong  , idle around 31-35c ,under HEAVY load like cinebench multicore it thermal throttles outright photo of pc coming now ive also had this pc for over a year now an this was the first time ive seen it thermal throttle

I can run prime 95 with the u11a and it doesn't throttle. Please see if there's any looseness in how you mounted it. That could be the issue. What's your room temp?

Your cooler is pointed the wrong way. It should be front to back, not breathing off the GPU backplate. If you are using low noise adaptors, that is not helping either.

Correct.  You note that it's pushing heat up and out,but it's also taking HOT air off the back of the GPU.  That air can't cool the CPU, as it's saturated already.

You want  the cool air from the front to feed into the front of the CPU Cooler and out the back of the PC.  Do that.

I notice that you have 6 fans - 3 exhaust and 3 intake. Because of the dust filter in front, that means you're ultimately pulling more air out than you are pushing air in. There are two easy solutions.

  1. Remove the front fan on top.
  2. Change the fan curves for all 3 exhaust fans so that they run a bit slower than the intake fans. As long as the result is at least a slight breeze coming out of other parts of the case (cracks, holes), it's good.

The dust filter isn't enough of an obstruction to make intake/exhaust unbalanced.  Leave it as is and enjoy the machine.

Repaste, turn the CPU Cooler and be like all the rest of us  🙂

Intake is preferred as it reduces dust getting into the PC and components.

Have you actually tested the filter on that case? My tests have shown that dust filters have an impact. The more dust, the worse. Also, multiple reviewers have demonstrated this.
