Ram speed vs ram size

So i have a mismatch ram which is 2x8GB 3200mhz and a 2x4gb 2133mhz. I currently use the 2x8GB 3200mhz one because obviously 3200mhz is faster. I wanna add the 2133mhz one and downgrade the 3200mhz one to just 2133mhz so i have 24gb of ram instead of 16gb. Which one is more beneficial to performance? Is ot the ram speed or the ram size? Btw, my cpu is ryzen 5 1600 from 2017.

Either you have enough RAM or not. So if you can't use more than 16GB then you'll just degrade your performance.

mixing ram is a myth you can do it if you want. but it sould be in pairs thow i think thow that also could be a myth. when you use a program it uses the amount of ram it needs at the speed its need at. 

 

there alot of games say you need x amount of ram but rarely use that amount.

With a Ryzen 1600, RAM speed won't matter.  The CPU is quite old.  Like asking if you should use Premium or Regular gas in your 2007 Civic.  

 

If you need more than 16GB RAM, add the 2x4.  If not, just use the 2x8.

Since the low amount is 16gb there is a good chance you will see better performance by going to 24gb even at the lower speed
