Is the rx 7700 xt a goob substitute for a 4060 ti 16gb?

Millios

Im wondering which gpu is actually a better buy for 1440p gaming and video editing.
Which is a better/more worth of the money?
rx 7700 xt at 435 euros
or
rtx 4060 ti 16 gb 455 euros

7700xt, by a decent margin, though pulls about 1/3 - 1/2 extra power compared to 4060Ti

Nvidia will be better at the video editing side of things but nothing super noticable

Id personally choose the 7700xt and thats diregarding the fact its cheaper too

System specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D [-30 PBO all core]

GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT NITRO+ [1050mV, 2.8GHz core, 2.6Ghz mem]

Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 32GB 6000MHz CL32 DDR5

Storage: 2TB SN850X, 1TB SN850 w/ heatsink, 500GB P5 Plus (OS Storage)

Case: 5000D AIRFLOW

Cooler: Thermalright Frost Commander 140

PSU: Corsair RM850e

I wouldn't get the 4060 Ti 16GB, it barely profits from the extra 8GB of VRAM and it's much more expensive than the 8GB variant. I'd get the 7700XT unless you care about ray tracing or every possible second saved exporting a video with a slight increase in general editing performance

as long as i can render it relatively fast (my curretn system takes a few hours for a 10-15min 1080p vid) and not watch it playback at 5 fps (Without a slow down to check every frame ofc) im fine. I'll also get a gpu with integrated graphics (ryzen 5 7600) so thatll help a bit as well. Ray tracing isnt a huge issue as well cause even for games like spiderman 2018, miles morales or spiderman 2 i dont REALLY care about ray tracing as long i can see whats going on without downscaling or pixaltion or even worse assets not loading

Now, ill be using resolve for editing. in terms of rendering and playback (disregarding cached frames) would the difference be big? Im talking actually big like maybe an hour or smt like that. Power isnt a huge issue as 1) I change the power drawn at settings and dont overclock or boost it much 2) i wont play smt SO heavy or do smt SO radical to really push it to need more power.

They sold you that processor in 2017? it was 7 years old already

Yeah the 7700xt will be a MASSIVE upgrade over the 1050

This is the 6800xt vs 1050Ti, both are slightly better than their counterparts (7700xt and 1050 respectively) so dont look at the numbers but the comparison should be similar

the 430m is a 14 year old laptop cpu

you sure it isnt a skylake or kabylake system?

for stuff that you can reuse usually storage is always reusable but you may or may not be able to reuse the psu aswell

anything lower than a 4070 isnt worth buying

used 6800xt and 3080 will outperform the 7700xt by quite abit and also be cheaper (~350€) or if your used market is bad at worst theyll be somewhat close to the pricing of that new 7700xt

best option would be a used 6800xt/6950xt or a 3080(ti)

all gpus mentioned are shown in the review above

I mean for 300-350 euro for stuff like fortnite i couldnt really complain plus i didnt really know. But thanks. ill take a look at the raw stats as well but i have seen that they are similar or at least comparable (4060 ti 16gb vs 7700xt i mean) but ill look at some more vids and sources.

The prebuild i got is from a domestic company in greece. The branding at least in the box is global x tho.
As for the alternatives sadly they are over 500 euros for me so its a no go. Would the 7700xt be a good option tho? alternatives aside

over 500€ used?

god damn thats a horrible used market

if your used market is that bad then the 7700xt is the best option cause the 4060ti is trash

Both 4060 Ti and 7700XT use only 8 PCIE lanes. So if your CPU and motherboard does not support PCIE gen 4, you are going to be bandwidth bottlenecked.

If that is the case, get a 6800 instead

You have been warned

well, he gonna be bottlenecked anyway, since his CPU is a 430m. Id prioritize that first.

For my mobo im going with an MSI b650 gaming plus wifi. It says it has gen 4 pcie slots and the the cpu (ryzen 5 7600) says it can support gen 5. Would that be an issue? or does the fact it supports gen 5 mean it can also support gen 4?

7700xt raytraces higher fps than the 4060ti

Ryzen 5800X3D(Because who doesn't like a phat stack of cache?) GPU - 7700Xt

                                                           X470 Strix f gaming, 32GB Corsair vengeance, WD Blue 500GB NVME-WD Blue2TB HDD, 700watts EVGA Br

~Extra L3 cache is exciting, every time you load up a new game or program you never know what your going to get, will it perform like a 5700x or are we beating the 14900k today? 😅~

Ah, with Ryzen 5 you won't run in to the bandwidth bottleneck.

In this case I would pick the 7700XT. Performs close to the 4070 and you can get good framerate at native 1440p
