PC Upgrade - Refreshing Internals of Existing Build

I'm looking for assistance in upgrading the heart of my PC. I've had mostly the same setup since 2011 and the CPU/RAM and it is starting to show its age in games like Helldivers and Destiny 2 and for design tasks. I have mostly a good core build but I am looking for guidance in picking the next heart for my PC for the next 5-10 years. (hopefully)

try the microcenter 7800x3d or 7700x bundle, everything else seems fine, it will pair ok for a 3070 but it can take a 4090 so you have a clear upgrade path for gpu

For gaming only?  Yes.  For productivity as well?  No.

Games don't load up more than 8 cores very well.  More cores aren't necessarily better.

I personally own the 7800X3D, I only game though.

Hmm well I'm really looking for both productivity and gaming. I don't want to have to choose between one or the other and be locked into that.

I think you're overthinking.  Unless you do productivity for work/income, the 8c/16t 7800X3D is more than enough.  Especially if you're coming from a 3770k.

The 7900 is an off CPU, as it isn't quite the 7950X and is only slightly better than the 7800X3D/7700X for productivity.

It's more than enough for casual editing, even for a Youtube channel owner.  If you NEED a 7900X/7950X, you'd know.

I do need productivity for work, and I don’t really know what I need which is why I’m reaching out.
