Hello wonderful people at LTT,

I need your help with some guidance on PC parts. Hopefully, soon I will be able to get a new PC, so I need to compile a list of parts. Here is what I have right now:

  • AMD and Intel don't really matter; both are good. The only difference is that Intel has more power within emu, AI, and other complex things.
  • For the GPU, the 4070 Ti looks to be the best bet; it's powerful but also doesn't thermal runaway.
  • Regarding RAM, DDR5 and DDR4 are the same in structure, but DDR5 can output more speed. However, DDR4 is still amazing in large amounts. So, 32GB of DDR4 will be good.
  • The PSU is going to be either 1000 or 1500 watts.
  • For storage, NVMe SSD and an SSD for a Linux distro.
  • Cooling-wise, AIO for the CPU and a lot of fans; we don't want to choke out the PSU and GPU. But if you have a good AIO for the CPU, you can't go wrong.

Now, regarding the CPU and motherboard, I have no idea and hope to get some guide's there.
If you see anything that will be a problem or have a compatibility problem, please do say. I don't want to accidentally get parts where one is bottlenecking the other. I want to get a PC that I can fiddle around with and it lasts 10 years-ish XD.
For the case, I don't know if you find something cool or weird-looking, send it over. I'll be happy to look at it.

If I may ask, you changed the CPU, motherboard, and PSU. Most of them looked the same... What differences are there between these two, and how compatible are

The 14 gen i7 runs a bit hotter than the 13 gen i7. You want a board with better VRM's for the 14 gen i7.
