Windows 10 or Windows 11 for this new build?

Go to solution Solved by Electronics Wizardy,

I'd go windows 11 unless you have a specific reason to use 10(which you probably don't if your asking here). Your gonna be basically forced to 11 soon with 10 going eol in about a year and a half, so might as well use 11 now.

Hello everyone!

I'm planning to build a new PC for myself next week with the following parts:

NewPC.thumb.jpg.963f0cceeb8f0de33f4335b3025de5eb.jpg

Which Windows should I go for? I'd use the PC mainly for gaming and video editing.

If you've got some advice for me on what could be changed/improved I would really appreciate the feedback!

The GPU will be replaced sometime in the near future probably with an 7900 GRE, I'm just using it for now since it was in my old system.

Every answer will be much appreciated!

It all depends on which version (10 or 11) that you already have the activation key for.

I’m sorry, that build scares me.its just… very interesting.
Why a Vega 64 in 2024? If you cut money, you can get the 7900gre now. Buy it used if you have to, and sell the 64

What do you have and what do you not have? What’s your budget? Also selling your old stuff would be better if you know what you’re going to get. Iirc Vega 64 goes for ~100-200$, and with the price cuts I’d if you can fit in a gre

... and the 10-s official support starts to end in few next years. Seems early but that's the way it is.

I edit my posts more often than not

I gave my old PC to my parents for them to use since they're using a prebuilt rig from 2012, so when the money is right I'll get a GPU as well since I'm not in a hurry with gaming at the moment but that's good advice right there

So why are you getting a Vega 64? There are used cards that are cheaper and better (5700xt etc)

Sorry you’re unclear so you have the Vega rn or no? If no, grab something better. If yes, you could hold onto it, or you could sell it, grab a decent newer used gpu with the money (one which performs better, I think 5700xt or used 6600 is in budget) and then hold onto it for a while, using it as an extra gpu instead of dead weight when you get a new thing.

Also, look at my build above. You can just maybe fit in a 7900gre used with all the cost saving in it.(after selling the Vega if you have it rn)
