Rtx cables question

scottox

Hi I just built my first gaming pc and I haven't had any problems luckily. A friend of mine visited me and said that I should use 3 different pcie cable for the cable that comes from the GPU instead of using and use the other end of one of them but my PSU only came with 2. I noticed that in the PSU package there's the cable that you can see in the photo. Should I attacht that instead directly from the PSU to the GPU?

My specs are rtx 4080 super

And the PSU MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 850w

Yes. You only need to use the adapter cable that goes to 3 PCIe cables if your power supply does not have a 12VHPWR cable. Since your power supply has the 12VHPWR cable you can just use that instead of the adapter cable and PCIe cables.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

So I just plug the cable in the picture directly from PSU to graphic card?
