Help with installing NVMe SSD? 馃檹

I feel really dumb asking this but it鈥檚 been so long since I put an SSD in that I feel I have no choice.

When attempting to put my 1TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus I came across these metal peg things.

IMG_7230.thumb.jpeg.55c0b0f75ba30b47dad18c35ec6f707c.jpeg

These pegs are making it impossible to screw the SSD into the board.

However at the same time they remain firmly in place and I can鈥檛 get them out.

What do I do?

Thanks!

you must have some tiny screws in a transparent small bag that came with the motherboard if you still have the box.

These metal things are the standoffs that you're supposed to screw the SSD mounting screw into.

M.2 SSDs use some tiny M2 screws that should've come with your mobo.

That should fit a normal M2x3 screw, you can usually just find some online.

A M2x3 screw is a M2x3 screw, doesn't matter who made/sold it, so you can just use whatever one you find.

its also an asshole move from whoever built this pc because the motherboard most definitely came with the right screws (either preinstalled or in a bag)

I called them and they said they looked at the manual and found it said it only includes a singular M.2 screw which they used to instill the 1TB SSD that came with the system.

Yeah true. Fortunately as I just found ojt they aren鈥檛 proprietary or expensive so that makes it a lot better.

I can just buy a bag and never have to worry about that again 馃槀 .

Sadly my Samsung SATA SSDs can鈥檛 be used because they didn鈥檛 plug the SATA cables into the PSU and I can鈥檛 put them in unless I take the entire PSU out.聽
