I have up to $1500 for a new gaming monitor.

MyrddinE
  • 30" diagonal or better
  • 160+ refresh, GSync
  • curved or not is fine
  • QD OLED
  • 16:9 preferred, but double-wides is fine if it has a mode that acts like two separate monitors
  • 1440p is OK, 2160p slightly preferred
  • $1500 budget max

There was the Gen3 Samsung sponsored video from a month ago, are monitors based on that out yet? Are there still brightness issues with the current QD OLED monitors?

Thanks, I appreciate your input.

I didn't include PC specs because ideally this monitor should last me through at least two and probably 3-4 major upgrades (4-10 years). It's not about the PC I have now, but what'll last me for a while in the future. For example, I have an NVIDIA 3060 which can't push 4k gaming at playable framerates... but I'll probably get a 50xx series card this year or next. I did specify GSync (not FreeSync) because I do like raytracing, I play with it regularly, and I'm OK locking myself to that brand. Almost all new monitors with GSync also have FreeSync as well anyway.

I haven't found a place that lists these, that's part of the problem.

here's the list,

i'd go for flat qd-oled and gloss, the msi options are the same panel and 200usd cheaper than the others whenever in stock.

gsync is unnecessary in 2024 imho

From the reviews I've seen so far the Asus seems to be the best monitor using the new 32" 4K QD-OLED panels from Samsung. The MSI one seems to be the best value.
