New to mobile gaming - recommendations ?

So, for the 1st time in many ..MANY ..years i've got myself a new phone. A DooGee V30T, to replace my old Galaxy S7

I didn't get it for gaming but apparently is more than capable.

So, i figured i'd grab a couple games and give it a go.

 

oh boy what a can of worms.

 

So are there ANY mobile games out there that are of moderate quality or better, using modern 3D graphics... WITHOUT ANY adds or MTXs (of any kind) ?

So far all i can find are retro style games, basic browser style games , very old 3D games from like the PS1-2 era, or modern games full of MTXs

 

I know the mobile gaming scene is ...horrific ..in regards to monetization ..but there must be something ?

 

ideally im looking for something i can pick up and play for 10 minutes or so offline. So no MMO style games.  Maybe a ARPG/hack&slash (diablo style) or RTS (C&C style)

 

EDIT: Also games Like Aether Gazer look like a blast on mobile, alas the ones i've found so far have monetization out the ears >.<

Geometry dash and minecraft, the only two that are worth it in my opinion and yes, the mobile gaming landscape is a wasteland, but those are the best titles out there right now

if you like racing games. real racing 3 and grid autosport are pretty awesome. grid costs 10 bucks but is worth it, looks and plays fantastic and real racing is so big it's almost neverending and to top it off its free.

I would recommend checking the Feral Games ports. This includes the Grid series as mentioned earlier, but also the Life is Strange games, Hitman, Alien: Isolation, etc. You also might want to check the Ubisoft games (Rayman, Assassin's Creed...) and the Sega games (King of Fighters, Crazy Taxi, Sonic...). I'm also into the Odd World series, KOTOR, and the Warner games like Injustice.

 

I personally like DS-like games, especially rhythm games, so that would include Beats (although it hasn't been updated in years) and a few others with a similar gameplay like Beatstar.

 

Besides all that, I almost never actually play on my phone, and when I do, it's mostly casual games like Two Dots.

 

Anyway, there's quite a lot to explore.

Technically pokemmo has 3D graphics.

You also can look into emulators.

A bit late here, but alot of the final fantasy and dragon quest games have official and good ports to mobile. If you like RPGs they are worth a check. Star rail is pretty fun as well even as FTP game but has gacha elements. 

 

As for other mentions, personally I have used PPSSPP on phones since galaxy S4 days and performance for PSP emulation is great.
