A share button could be especially useful in certain areas of the site. I know in a lot of places you can just copy the link to the thread, but it could be especially useful mainly in status updates where you can't always get a specific link to the status update.

Doesn't seem to be one in status updates though I didn't realize people used those. 

 

IMO those buttons are always slower than just copying the URL which you can easily do with status updates as well.

There is a share button on the top right corner of forum posts. This gives you a direct link to the content as well as external sharing on other social media.

 

The timestamp on any post (including status updates) is also a direct link to that content.

could be useful but not as many people use status updates as much as the topics. Don't get me wrong, there is definitely a community there. But since more newbies go for topics, more people are just gravitated towards that

@GoStormPlays from what I understand you have to go to 'All status updates' first (the server like image in the top right of status updates) and then go on the status update you want to share and then copy that link

yeah, that's just a mouthful to remember and do every time

@Spotty makes a good point, just use the timestamp links. Couldn't be easier.
