Looking for a EGPU

No no thunderbolt support

Even if it had its VERY expensive and you'll have quite lowered performance since thunderbolt AT BEST had a pcie 3.0 x4 link.

If you need gpu performance in  slim device multiple options available for less than this one + an egpu and at worst just as performant (usually better)

You need USB 4 or Thunderbolt to use an external GPU. USB 3.2 doesn't support PCIe tunneling.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

And apparently it must be the full fat 40Gbps USB4 not the nerfed 20Gbps USB4.

so this is wrong

Quora is just search result clutter. I don't consider the 'answers' there any more reliable than ChatGPT.
