Please help. Haven't built a PC in 10 years

Budget (including currency): $2,000 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming AAA new releases, also some 3d modeling but nothing super extensive here.

Other details I have a build kind of put together, as I havent built a PC in about 10 years i feel like there are a lot of traps I could fall in that I havent kept up with. Also deals around the web are plentiful so long as the vendor is reliable. Mostly I am looking for a higher end gaming PC. doesnt have to be the biggest and best but I would like it to last me a good amount of years without needing upgraded. I am donating my current PC to a local child so I will be building from scratch. I plan to run 2 monitors including a brand new superwide I would like. (we have upgraded to the superwides from work and i love it.) I am not concerned with other perephals as I already know what I would like for them.

If someone could let me know A if the linked build seems fine for what it sounds like I need. (Am I missing anything and what would you change to stay within budget.) B are there any great places to get deals as i am working within a budget and want to get the best for my money. thank you all for your help.

I'd make a build on PCPartPicker, and link to that; downloading files off a forum isn't usually something a lot of people are going to want to do.

Are the monitors in the budget?

The 120mm fan goes inside the back of this case for an exhaust fan.

7800x3D is hard to beat. Combined with a B650/B650e motherboard, 2x16GB 6000MHz CL30 RAM, some sort of PCIe 4.0 4x M.2 SSD, 850W PSU, and an RTX 4070ti Super or RX 7900 XTX.

The rest is really personal choice, the above being the major performance limiting components.

I would look at a dual tower cooler for that cpu.

Here’s a thought:  I din’t think the 4070ti super is worth the $100 over the regular 4070ti.  You can get a WQHD OLED with this budget, which will be NIGHT AND DAY over anything else.  I didn’t include a drive, that’d out tou over budget, but if you have an SSD you can use that and maybe get an NVMe later.  If not, and NVMe now would still be worth it.

You need to quote or tag people in order for them to see you've replied to the post 😉

As for your list, it's not bad. I'd get a bigger cooler for the CPU. There's lots of very good budget coolers, check out Hardware Canucks, they do great shootouts on them. I'd probably get a better case as well, that one is likely a bit air flow restricted.

Do you really have the space for a second monitor with a 45" ultra wide? I think it'd be more of a pain than something that's genuinely useful.
