I am in a dilemma with these options for my next laptop

Hello everyone,

I have a dilemma 😞

I currently own a Lenovo Legion 5 17.3 laptop with 5800h and RTX 3060 140w

I ordered a laptop with RTX 3070 as an upgrade as I don't need anything else and i will sell the current laptop.

Now after I ordered my laptop from ebay i came across these laptops in my local market.

Asus tuf FX507 rtx 4070 i7 12700h

Dell Alienware M17 R5 full amd laptop 6850m xt and 17 inch 4k 120hz laptop

My question is is it worth it to go and sell the 3070 laptop as well and go for 4070m? Or go with 6850m xt? Mind you that for the alienware laptop i can trade both of my current laptops with it but with the 4070m i can just sell both of them to minimize the damage to my wallet and buy it.

I really like the 17.3 inch laptops so the asus tuf is kinda not my favorite but the hardware is nice for it's price.

Help indeed i am stuck 😔.

I can still keep the 3070m laptop as i don't think i will need more than that power as i only game on 1080p and can sacrifice some settings for more frames

May I ask why you are doing such small laptop upgrades? Just seems like a waste of money?

Why not just a desktop at this point a 17.3 inch tuf or alienware is legiy just NOT portable.

Astonishingly terrible deal btw

Just keep the 3070. What laptop is it? The perf difference is like 10% not worth AT ALL

Ok the laptop that i ordered is:

HP omen 17.3 inch

I7 11800h

16*2 ram ddr4 dual rank

RTX 3070 8GB full tgp

1.5 tb nvme

RGB keyboard

17.3 inch IPS 144hz

-----

The 2 laptops that i see now are:

Asus Tuf FX507:

I7 12700h

2x8 DDR4 ram

RTX 4070 8gb full tgp

15.6 inch IPS 144hz

RGB keyboard

-----

AMD Ryzen 6900h

2x16 ram DDR5

AMD 6850m XT 12gb full tgp

Should I just keep the 3070? Or sell it and get the 4070?

What is your opinion? What is the correct answer? 🤯

Thats barely gonna be better than your legion.

Cpu is very hot and this omen doesnt have the best cooling system. It also runs the 3070 at a low tdp. Good chance you wont see a performance uplift.

Keep what you have and play it out till it really struggles.

Dont do 10% upgrades.

A normal 3070 (110w or so) is about 12% faster. A 11800h id SLOWER than a 5800h.

Your legion however runs a STUPID FAST 3060. Like it BEATS the slower 3070's which the hp you bought has.

So basically you'll have like no upgrade here just a laptop with WAY worse battery life as 11th gen is terribly inneficient.

So the right choice is to keep your legion you have and cancel the hp order. Then in a year or 2 look for a new laptop if REALLY needed
