Need to find the cheapest way of getting this graphics card working in this system.

What Dell did that motherboard come out of?

If you're comfortable soldering, you can replace the whole connector for a few bucks. (Assuming it's the standard Molex mini-fit for ATX.)

I'm quickly running out of money. Already blown more than I'm comfortable spending. And on top of that, I'm getting my own place very very soon. So I need the dirtest cheapest way of getting this graphics card operating with this motherboard for my friend.

The main issue is the 24 pin motherboard power interfering with the graphics card in both slots.

Was thinking of using the top PCIe slot with a 24 pin right angle. But all the adapters I can find bend in the wrong direction. Also thinking to use the bottom slot and have the graphics card mount below the motherboard. That would allow my friend to use his sound card. I have no experience with PCIe riser cables ( I need a right angle female end) so I don't know if the super cheap ones on Ebay are any good?

Or any other suggestions? I just wanna be done with this stupid thing so I can stop spending money on it.

Cheap is fine in this case, not the best but you need something that gets the job done

Combine the cheapest version of this you can find:
https://www.amazon.com/GINTOOYUN-Riser-Express-Extension-Degree/dp/B08LSSP3W5/ref=asc_df_B08LSSP3W5/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=658527642128&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7478971355203887798&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9026941&hvtargid=pla-2063595917963&psc=1&mcid=ff84d4f0dc0a3624a2f4f8a4c58cf7ff

With a cheap ribbon cable

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

What even is this system haha 😛

Some compact hp dell whatevers you frankensteined into a case?

Anyways the only real way will be to vertical mount it with a pcie riser cable. Wont be super cheap since ya need a vert mount kit and well your case here doesnt support vertical mounting so time to take out the pliers and start chopping at it if ya do this.

Or get a cheap case that supports vertical gpu's.

Or replace the board.

What an awful location for the 24 pin connector on that board.

PCIe riser cable to move the GPU away from the 24 pin connector is really the best way. Only other option I can think of would be to remove the 24pin connector from the board and replace it with a 90 degree angle connector.

Would that need some insulating tape under it?

Yeah, best would be to use a pci-e x16 riser / extension

An example : https://www.amazon.com/Okinos-Extension-Compatible-RTX4070ti-RTX3090ti/dp/B0C22WJTMB/

Another cheaper model, $20 : https://www.amazon.com/AsiaHorse-Flexible-Extender-Extension-Adapter/dp/B07Z4RGVQP/

Another example : https://www.amazon.com/Eagolloar-Extender-Flexible-Extension-Cable-150mm/dp/B09L4MN6H4/

The sound card should work even in a pci-e x1 slot, so i'd also get a pci-e x1 or pci-e x4 riser cable just so you can have the sound card below the video card and have the x16 ribbon cable direct between the slot and the video card, without other things interfering.

The second slot where you have the video card in picture now is probably "powered" by the chipset, and probably has only 4 lanes, 8 lanes at most so you'd lose performance.

example : https://www.amazon.com/Alwong-Express-Extender-Extension-Degree/dp/B0B71KXS9R/

The pci-e slot is open at the end, so you can plug a x8 or x16 card into the x4 slot

Optiplex 7010 SFF. I bought 3 of them for $100 on craigslist last week, all with 32gb RAM, i7 3770's, and 240GB Crucial and Samsung SSD's. The parts are coming in handy not only for this stupid project here, my main PC got a 32GB RAM upgrade from it and my friend is getting the same.

The reason I stuck a Dell mobo in his case is because his old motherboard (ASRock Z77 Pro3) died and the new replacement I ordered (ASUS P8P67 LE) arrived DOA. Money down the drain unless I can get a refund on it. At that point I was kinda messing around with the pile of parts around me when I discovered the Dell motherboard has standard ATX screw holes and fit perfectly. It was at that point I knew what I must do.

Hey, now that's what I'm talkin' about. The shipping from Sparkfun is insane. But I did find one on Ebay for $8 free shipping.
