I’m recommending a thinkpad or dell latitude because those tend to have the best support for thunderbolt as they are a very common use case for those laptops and will have good support.

On top of that, Thinkpads and Latitudes have Toyota-tier reliability. Strong recommendation.

So after an upgrade to my pc I have a 3060 ti laying about and looking at getting a 4k laptop and to use said gpu as an external one. What laptops do you reccomend with a good cpu but a "poor" gpu.

I want to play games and watch movies hence the 4k display

TIA

I mean, there are plenty of laptops that have very good CPUs with integrated graphics. The main thing you will be looking for is a computer that supports eGPUs, TB3/4, etc.

new thinkpads***

older thinkpads TB support is questionable to say the least. (to the point where if you didn't upgrade the drivers the TB controller would kill itself)
