1080p camera on 4k obs canvas

I forgot to check my resolution settings in OBS before shooting footage for a video project, just me in front of a green screen reading through a script. Turns out my canvas was set to 4k but my camera only "captures" a 1080p signal. Would I get any benefit from stretching the source out from 1080p to 4k and capturing in OBS? I doubt I will actually get anything nearly as sharp or detailed to a camera that could actually capture 4k. But, would I get any benefit from the larger canvas or am I just making files larger than they need be?
