You cannot. The rm850x shift uses corsairs type 5 cables. The rm1000x uses type 4. You’d need the new cables from the rm1000x

Hello!

I bought my little brother a new PSU for his computer. Origanally, he was using a Corsair RM850x SHIFT 850 W. Now he'll be using a Corsair RM1000x (2021) 1000 W. Can I use the old PSU cables and just connect the old PSU cables to the new PSU?

Secondly, how do I connect the GPU, it is PNY VERTO GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. Do i use the y splitter and double 8 pin connectors to the PSU?

RMx shift uses type 5 cables. Normal RMx Uses type 4 cables.

Type 5 has smaller connectors.

No you physically can't use the RMx Shift cables in a non Shift power supply.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Thanks! I guess I'm doing it the hard way.

As for the pcie cables, you can use the split 8 pin if you want. They’re decent cables so it won’t cause any problems.

or you can use individual connections with two cables, either option works
