4080 price cut??

Since the launch of the Super cards today, will there be a price cut on the og 4080, or will it just continue to sell at original price?

Since it's nvidia I expect there won't be. But we'll have to wait till the 31st to see. Even if there is one I expect it'd probably make them the same price

The 4080S is supposed to launch at $1,000 which is effectively a price cut compared to the 4080's original $1,200 launch price. The non-S variant will be discontinued. Of course, we have no clue how retail prices will shake out and how they'll compare to current prices.

My thought was perhaps to clear out stock they will lower prices of non super, or is this wishful thinking?

It would make some sense, considering the 4080S launches at $1,000 (and is ~3% faster). But of course if stock goes down and people rush to grab the remaining cards, prices could also remain stable or even go up…

I dont think there will be price cuts BY nvidia but AiBs can always reduce their profits to get rid off old stock. I would assume they will slowly start dumping discontinued cards to system integrators.

I doubt it will go that cheap this year. I hope it does but can't see nvidia slashing it by anywhere near that much or they would have to give the 4050s and 60s away for next to nothing!

their not major gpu releases so they might not make as much of a ripple as you might think, but it's possible!

nope. 4070 SUPER is coming on the 17th, 4070 Ti SUPER on the 24th and 4080 SUPER on the 31st, more info below

Wouldn't take a 4050 for free and use it.  Maybe regift it.  It's a subpar GPU they're putting out cuz they left a price range hole due to their greed.

yeah its pretty crap by the looks of things. I have a 4060 16gb. Got really bad reviews but I think its quite decent. Everything runs at ultra 2k or 4k at good fps

these cards got bad reviews not because they're bad, but because they're bad value compared to previous generation,  aka its not really worth it to upgrade from 3000 --> 4000.

They really won't,  Nvidias share price is allready sky high because of the AI boom , Consumer level graphics cards are small fish for them right now.
