Watch Dogs will not run on Dual-core CPUs

There are a few issues;

- CPU bottleneck

- Memory issue; gpu's apparently dip all the way down to 10%

Uploading it atm. 2 cores 30 fps 4 cores 60 fps and 6 cores 70 and all threads no gain anymore. Basically 4 main threads & 2 trashthreads

that's what this user seem to confirm from the screenshots...this is quite a demanding game...lets just hope it's because of the crack's mining software that is taxing the CPU in the background...

you must remind yourself that 6 intel cores are much more performance than 8x AMD cores or 4x i5 cores...these two will not run the cracked version of watch dogs really well...hope the retail is better!

| CPU: Core i7-8700K @ 4.89ghz - 1.21v  Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING  CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 |
| GPU: MSI RTX 3080Ti Ventus 3X OC  RAM: 32GB T-Force Delta RGB 3066mhz |
| Displays: Acer Predator XB270HU 1440p Gsync 144hz IPS Gaming monitor | Oculus Quest 2 VR

The i5 will destroy the 8350. It's similarly threaded like BF4

...and the core i5 won't ''destroy'' the FX 8 core chip in BF4 either...but we will not start on this today okay! just youtube some video's BF4 ULTRA FX-8320 + GTX 780 and see for yourself you're good enough.

BTW the game is defenetly mining in the background your usage across 12 threads of 60+% cant be true when parked on a street and nothing happening...

the retail version will not do that..

A game developer that doesnt realize its the OS things, shadowplay or the monitoring tool.

I just started off assigning 2 cores for WD, then 4, then 6 and in the end all 12 threads

you used shadowplay to record that isn,t it?

ok because shadowplay use 0% ressource from your CPU it only use GPU power to record the videos...just so you know...

Please stop with that mining BS, the crack doesn't have any mining in the background, the torrent i got was clean, the report said that it originated from a separate process and executable hidden in appdata which i don't have.

Only some torrents were infected and they came from untrusted sources.

http://gearnuke.com/watch-dogs-will-run-dual-core-cpus-less-6gb-ram/

I'm quite skeptical of these claims, given the Wolfenstein thread that show that i5s and even i3s are capable of playing that game well even when the requirements stated an i7 was necessary to play in highest settings.

Wait, as in it will run slowly, or will we get a box that says 'FUCK YOU, NOT EVEN GONNA TRY TO RUN!' I have a C2D, and I swear to god, if the game won't even launch because it's not quad core...

“The main issue is your ram. If you climb it up to 6 you should be able to run the game at low settings."

WAT. 6GB of RAM for low settings? Jesus, is the entire game running on it?

WAIT, POSSIBLE GOOD NEWS

He's got a C2D, 4GB of RAM, and a GT 430, which doesn't even seem possible; the game has reflections and shadows, so he's not running on low... But a 630?! I can't help but think this is too good to be true. And at 1080p as well!

(sorry for the spamming posts; this just got me pissed off. Did I just pat $60 for a game I can't use?)

Is it okay to be afraid of this game?

You gotta do you girl. I always say you gotta do you. And if he's doing him, then who's doing you? Because right now, it seems like no one's doing you.

there's this thing called driver optimization...

I'd hope it ends up like what happened with Crysis 3 and not that this game is just intrinsically difficult.

Got my copy early! My C2D suffers, it's stuck at 25-25FPS, on low or even ultra- the GPU is fine.

However, these new Nvidia drivers are supposed to dramatically reduce CPU overhead, which they specifically said would help in situations with weaker processors. I'll be back when I try out the new drivers.

no, mantle or directx12 will do that...nvidia driver won't help your core 2 duo by any means...you desesperatly need a CPU upgrade my man!

E6600 2.4GHZ C2D

3.5GB DDR2

1GB HD 7750

128GB Crucial M4

Game runs ...

CPU : 100%

RAM : 1400MB

GPU : 25% Usage

Bad news, 22-25FPS the walking around areas. Major dips.

C2D at 3.5GHZ+ should be fine. Any i3 = 4.5GHZ+ C2D's. i3's will be fine.

Good news, game isn't optimized, even for high end rigs. People with high end cards complaining of major FPS dips at random.

i3-4170, H81 board, 8GB DDR3, Crucial M4, GTX 770, Xigmatek Vangaurd Case, Creative Titanium X-fi, Razer Carcharias, 500w PSU, 24" VA panel and a 42" IPS. Thinking about getting a plant.
