Move Reserved partition to allocate space for C:

You can't move the partition your currently running OS is on.

Best bet would be to use e.g. a live-USB image of GParted.

Just be sure to backup important stuff before messing with anything.

Personally I don't think adding another 16 MB is worth the risk. nm, saw there's another 5 GB there...

I need to add the unallocated space to my main C: partition, but it's in front of the reserved partition that is highlighted in the screenshot, but I cannot move the partition so that the unallocated is in front of C: when I try to extent the C: it will not let me select the unallocated. Any ideas what could I do? Oh, I'm using Minitool partition wizard.

Edit: Thanks everyone for the help. It looks like too much work for just 5gb so I'm gonna leave it as it is. I didn't try post marked as the solution but it looks like the way to go.

Move the "Other" to the left and then resize C: partition or is that really not possible? Don't know if a 16MB partition is a necessary one though. Maybe just delete it?

the thing is that the option is not visible when right clicking on the partition... On every other it is but not this one. And the partition is on every drive so I would assume it's important...

you can see it in the screenshot other partition on the left, there's not the option

Yeah now I read the reserved partition might be necessary or even vital, so it might mess up boot files or something if deleted.

That 16mb partition is the msr partition. I believe it's only needed if you set your disk to dynamic. Either way, i'd probably leave it be.

i don't want to delete it but i need to allocate the unallocated space in front of the reserved par. But i'm unable to move the reserved partition so that the C: and unallocated are next to each other.

Uh.. can't you move C to the left once and then the Unallocated to the right to align them? I'd assume it doesnt have these options since you can just manipulate the other partitions around it instead. Unless its stopping you from doing any changes to the layout.

Why? It's only 5 gigs of space out of a 2 terabyte drive.

I vote for "leave it alone".

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Ok, so it's too complicated/ too much work for 5gb.
