You should be shopping on Amazon for that stuff

almost no difference in price here in Australia. I will avoid amazon for as long as i can tbh. Have yet to use it.

There is almost no benefit to pricing (with brand new parts) with pc parts when buying from amazon or ebay or an aussie online pc parts seller that may or may not have a physical store. We get absolutely stomped on prices here in Aus for pc parts...

Where I live in Aus, it's considered "rural". There are some home appliance/general electrical home goods/consumer electronic stores. It's often CHEAPER to buy a new appliance or electrical device i want from an online retailer from elsewhere in Aus & have it shipped to me than it is to BUY it local....absolutely insane.

Hell...i HAVE to buy pc parts online & have it shipped to me where i live as there are no actual pc parts store around...apart from really small shops that pop up from time to time that die within 6months with insane markups on pricing.

You can also take out the bracket support screw on the FC and FS 140s and lower the fan another 3 or 4mm or so once the heatsink is intalled as that screw is what keeps the fan from being any lower and only holds the bracket onto the heatsink, when its mounted to the mobo, the mounting pressure does this anyway, i think you can get the fan down to 155mm or so, possibly even lower, havent tried this myself

@freeagent Can you run tests of the PA,PS,FC and FS, and post graphs with the results?

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

Lol no..

Mostly because I don't know how to make a graph.

And I don't own FS 🙂

Graphmaking has gotten more difficult in spreadsheets, I admit, but you're really smart so I have no doubt you can figure it out.

I guess I dont for sure. But I own enough of their old and new coolers to draw a conclusion.

Then there is the fact that almost everyone who is running the same hardware as me has way higher temps, and does not see the same boosts that I do. Pretty tell tale sign there too.

I'm pretty sure that the dry ice I saw through your window has something to do with that. LOL!

I would love to understand what your technique is to always get such great results, but I guess it's a secret.

Still, if you ever get the FS,I genuinely want to know what you think.

Ive heard the FS is better too but im thinking that could be to do with heat pipe placement for intel, could be that 2 heatpipes are centered over the die vs FCs only having 1 central heat pipe, but for AMD that might be different due to the off centre dies and the higher heat pipe count moving more heatpipes lower down the IHS meaning either better or nonminal changes in results, though i wonder if you used liquid metal and a copper IHS or similar on an intel chip to see if the FC becomes better due to more heatpipes.

Also the FC has less fins and a larger fin spacing, also possibly causing heat to be lost slower and so a lower temperature delta between the heatpipes and the chip, meaning slower heat transfer, if TR ever brought out a heatsink with 5x8mm heatpipes and FS fin spacing i think thatd be ideal

Id say TR thought that increasing fan RPM and blade geometry and reducing fin spacing would help with airflow but didnt really account for consumers just getting better fans to be able to benefit from a denser fin array...much to my dismay

Tangentially related because jank lol.

I used the power adapter of my old dead 2.5g little switch (48v).

I had a problem with cat litter smell in the house.

Chopped the plug off the end of wire. Crimped it (red & black) with molex crimps/plug & I now have a house that doesnt smell like cat litter! I can potentially add as many fans as I want until I hit 48v haha.

They are called louvers. I live in Australia, where they are very common. Allowing for relatively free flow of air whilst keeping the elements out like rain or dust, debree etc. They are very common in the more tropic areas of aus, where I live they are in every other house. I dont need a gun? I live in Australia. The laws & use of a gun are very very strict. Using a gun for home defence would most certainly result in serious life altering jail time 100%, I am not exagerating. If your referring to the spiders lol, using a gun to kill a spider would almost certainly result In loss of gun licence, a massive fine & possible jail time lol. I dont usually get spiders, the fly screen keeps most little bugs & insects out. Like most houses alot of critters or insects would find their way in via the ceiling/roof. Start of the monsoon season a few insects come inside but thats nothing a can of raid can't solve - my cats also are professional insect hunters lol.

Update - The house is completely & utterly free of any & all cat smells. Who knew all i needed was proper ventilation & airflow. Amazing - i've been putting up with this for over a year!

There are other solutions...odor-absorbing litter, odor-absorbing packets, better quality litter, more frequent changes of litter, an electric litterbox that sifts out the gunk and seals it in a bag automatically, no cats (lol), hanging tons of car fresheners (ala the movie 7 LOL!), and so on.

I suppose you could get a pitbull to scare the shit out of the cats. 🤣

I have used odour absorbing crystals n such, the more absorbent nice smelling litter is expensive, when I was flush with cash at beginning of last year u bet I'd buy $200 worth of the fancy stuff no worries. I use a soft wood pulp litter now, all I can afford, that is half decent. I am currently very buggered money wise so a free solution is a good solution.
