I need help removing the piston from my chair

PatchesNeedsSomeMilk

Is there any way I can remove the piston (silver) from the top part? I've tried for hours now but I can't seperate them

Does the manufacturer of your chair offer a manual or customer support?

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

I think this should come off if you hold the hold the piston in your hand and force the other end out with your legs. If it doesn't it probably isn't removable.

I am getting pretty fucking sick and tired of the "watch something else" responses. It's such a cop out answer because you could say that about basically anything, and it doesn't address the actual complaints. People use it as some kind of card they pull when they can't actually respond to the criticism raised but they still feel like they need to defend some company/person. If you don't like this thread then stop reading it. See how stupid it is? It's basically like telling someone "shut the fuck up". It's not a clever responsive, it doesn't address anything said, and it is rude.

See that small indentation just below the top of the black cylinder? That's a crimp point holding the top seal cap (that retains the silver rod) in place which also makes the silver rod non removable.

  • 2 weeks later...

what you need is a pipe wrench and some wd40...   spray wd40 were the cylinder meets the chair plate... the put the adjustable pipe wrench on the cylinder (you will most likely mar the cylinder doing this)... and twist, while hold chair plate in place (if it won't budge you may wanna get a breaker bar on the wrench for increased leverage. )
