COD is not the only FPS out there, and there isn't licencing problems with a competitor releasing a similar game.

Some people buy playstations solely for CoD.

FIFA isn't the only football game out there, PES exists.

But the consumer base is so brain-dead they'll buy the same game year after year and justify the purchase of a new system just for that series of game.

Personally I'm done blaming publishers, They're doing the right thing: making as much money as humanly possible. I now put the blame on the idiots who keeps throwing their money away at them.

They just need to remake the CoD2 and go back to the good old days.

This is the same problem as people who comment on Instagram or Facebook things they dislike or disagree with. Viewing, and commenting increases "engagement" which reinforces whatever topic or tactic they're using.

Game purchases are the ultimate benchmark for publishers. Even with bad reviews in publications and on Steam et al, if people continue to buy games despite that, there's little incentive for the developer/publisher to alter anything. 

Don't comment on that meme or reel, and don't purchase games for the sake of purchasing them.

I know someone who works for Demonware in Vancouver, Canada (3+ years there now) ...they even say it's a sh!tshow, even with the previous installments.

Yes, MW3 *was* supposed to be like a DLC, but obviously Activision-Blizzard's board of director's and managers just saw $$$.

 

$90 Canadian Pesos for the "Base" game, and $130 for the "Vault" Edition.

For what is essentially a DLC? No thanks.

And a couple of my friends, including myself, were looking forward to this game -- earlier in the year, that is.
