gpu with bent pcb

Got a used 3090 on ebay. It came with an alphacool eisblock es waterblock that the previous owner used it with. I looked at it after unboxing and it looks visibly bent at the edge especially, and I think it's because of this capacitor

Doesn't go back to straight even after taking it off. I asked the seller and he said he used it like this for around a year with no issues. How bad is this on a scale of 1-10?

I tried sanding it down but I think it wasn't enough. Can't really tell if doing more will fix it considering the kink is visible even on just the bare board. Should I sand it down more or leave it like this?

If it works it works. And would definitely NOT sand a capacitor, if anything machine the block...

not ideal at all, but if it works, it'll probably keep woring.

either way, i'd prefer keeping it that way over forcefully bending it back.

i read over that in OP's post.. if anything, i'd replace the cap outright, this much stress on the cap probably isnt good for it, and they make caps in all sorts of shapes so you can probably find something less tall (or more tall and skinny, and aly it on it's side.)

I didn't mean sanding down the capacitor, but part of the block that obstructs it.

I don't have the tools to replace the capacitor. But I can sand down more of the block, even if it doesn't fix the bend of the pcb at least the cap won't get that much stress on it going forward. Just wanted to hear a few opinions if it looked really bad

OK good, the last photo looks like the cap top is rounded instead of square, probably some light effect then.

Yeah it's just the lighting. It definitely still touches the block and gets stressed so I'll need to do more. It won't look good but luckily it's not visible

ideally you would sand enough clearance that the capacitor does not touch the cooler at all. It's a through-hole component so I wouldnt worry about stress on it

I can't tell if it got better or if that's how it looks normally @OhYou_ @Kilrah

Maybe it could still be better, don't really wanna waste the thermal paste I put on though. I think I'll just test it like this and see how it goes, at least it should be in a somewhat better state than it used to be
