$157 for the 5600X3D makes a lot more sense than $230. If it had been that price on Day 1, the reviews would have been insanely favorable, and Micro Centers across the country would have sold out instantly. It would have been heralded as the ultimate budget gaming CPU.

 

I don't understand why AMD keeps doing this to themselves, where they start a product's price too high for it to be exciting, only to drop the price a few months later to what it should have been in the first place.

A 7700x isn’t terrible but that 7800X3D is a nearly Black Friday deal and I don’t think it should drop any further

I actually just made a change.  At $156, the chip is amazing but the deal for $269 isn't 

 

I am going to just get the chip, reuse her RAM overclocked, and get a motherboard that fits the case.

 

The bundled Mobo won't, and I don't want to get a new caee and refo it all.  She has the case stickered and what not, to her liking .

 

I agree, the ,7800x3d isn't the biggest upgrade but I can sell the 7700x for $200-225 or so.... Making it worth it .  

 

I'm really curious what a pbo/co -30 7700x compares to what I can do with the 7800x3d.  Need to tweak it if possible.

The problem I have is that I absolutely don't need it... but it's like... a fraction of a percent of what I have in my bank account... 
I'm actually trying to NOT give into computer nerd addictions as much and to do fun, interesting meaningful things, heck even career development. 

 

But I want a 7900x or 7800x3D. Also Zen 5 is out next year.
