Arvis

I thought it was a 1 time thing of my phone catching on fire with my phone with lint in the port. nut even with us cleaning them every 3 months it happened with my wife's phone.

It happened with what my cousin sees on repair as one strand of lint to connect pos and neg on usb

This makes no sense. Lint is flammable, but not conductive.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

I'm using the thing below in order to be lazy and not clean my phone ports 🤣

Although, it's gonna be replaced with a magnetic charging cable dongle soon.

But yeah, I never had a fire caused by a dirty phone charging port even before using dust plugs.

And I clean phone's charging port like... once in a year or so.

... i just checked my port... never cleaned it... but its completely dust free, sqeaky clean!

so i agree, they don't really seem to accumulate dirt at all (but then again I still have 30 year old CDs fully functional ... most people's CDs wouldn't last a month from my recollection lol...)

i believe OPs issue (?) is probably caused by high humidity.

As far as I'm concerned, it could be ... one of quite many reason.

- Something small & conductive got into the port

- Maybe there's enough traces of metal dusts in the lint

- Too high humidity

- Faulty something in the phone

etc

Not like I'm very knowledgeable about such things, but yeah I really never heard of a case where lint in charging port causing phone to combust.

As for the dust plug, me myself uses those dust plugs since I live in a very dusty country, and I often put my phone on table outdoor.

It does help, atleast when I compare it with my friend's phone that doesn't use it. Probs can help to some extent with some accidental water spill too.

Anyway, it's so cheap that it's hard to be disappointed too much if it doesn't help at all. 🤣
