Hey guys! I had a 10 year old build so decided to get some new parts.

I have a 1080t (same from old build)

now these are my new parts

i7 13700k

ddr5 32gb

h115i gtx cpu cooler

corsair 1200i psu

im trying to play warzone 2 at 1440p but i get like 40-50fps and it doesent really matter what quality settings i change it to it pretty much stays around the same fps

this is the same fps with my old 5930k i7 and ram

what could be the issue? i will go back to my old build if the new cpu ram and mobo dont matter.  sorry im new to all this but if i need to give you guys other info i will

Looks like you upgraded wrong things. Just to make sure, what was your CPU and RAM usage before upgrade? If either was over 60%, then upgrade might have been worth it. But this game is made for GPUs that are 5 years newer than yours, and that might show here.

Looking at the video, lowering resolution and/or settings should give fps boost for little effect on the looks.

If the old build made complete use of the GPU (if it didn't bottleneck the GPU), the uplift from the new parts is going to be minimal and mostly noticeable in the smoothness (1% lows and 0.1% lows way higher than before) and perhaps a lower power draw of the platform.

The new parts allow you to upgrade the GPU to a modern mid-range or high-end card. The old parts would severely bottleneck.

Did you reinstall windows?

if not your really really really should.

What are temps like on the cpu and gpu?

Since dropping quality doesn't do anything I either suspect it being the old windows install if you dindt reinstall or a overheating issue

Have you set windows power settings accordingly?

Is anything throttling?

Drivers up to date?

Are you playing on a HDD? This one catches out a lot of people.

did your old  rig realy get that 1440p?..

your old rig was most likely CPU bottlenecked.

but.. all parts of your old build is outdated, and would generaly slow down anything new you get.

get a new nvme drive for windows and gpu too and you will have a new world.

Tom's Hardware GPU rankings show the 1080TI averaging about 50fps on 1440 ultra (across their game test suite). But then that is ultra, and WZ isn't the heaviest game.

My results are consistently a little higher then Tom's Chart in the real world (2070S and then 4070), because I run mostly at high (not ultra), and not all games are as heavy as even RDR2. So I would expect a littlie more than you're getting, but prob not over 100 FPS or anything, for WZ2.

Still, assuming everything isn't set to ultra, I feel like you should be able to get 60+ at least.

Edit: For reference I was getting around 100 with my 2070 super. I don't have all the settings at hand, but again, generally "high" 1440, with max draw distance. the 2070S is only a little higher on the Toms Hardware graph (which I do find to be generally reliable). This is with just a Ryzen 5600 CPU

Thanks for all the replies! I just went out and bought a 4070 to replace the 1080ti I will report back. 🙂

don't forget a nvme disk.. if you don't already have it. standard ssd max'es at 600mb/s. any decent nvme starts 3400mb/s. and gen4 up to 7000mb/s..

most likely you will need to reinstall..  with that CPU and GPU with windows 11, you should reinstall anyway.

remember to download ahci disk controller drivers, and leave them unpacked on the install USB in it's own folder, and you should get chipset drivers, network drivers and GPU drivers. and install them all before you connect to internet.

the ahci/raid drivers you might need at install during disk selection if you can not find your nvme. click load driver and select the folder you put them in.

when it's up and started, it will need chipset, GPU drivers(from nvidia) and network\wifi drivers installed, then connect it to internet.. why?.. windows auto download from windows update.. and those drivers are not what you want.
