[Fortnite lag spiking and freezing]

Hey everyone,

I'm encountering some frustrating performance problems while playing Fortnite on my PC, and I'm hoping to get some expert advice on how to resolve them. My PC specs are as follows (please refer to the attached screenshots for details):

The issue I'm facing is persistent freezing and lagging during gameplay. I've tried optimizing the game using Nvidia GeForce Experience and have also run Hone for optimization, but the problems still persist.

I'd like to emphasize that I'm not looking to upgrade or change my PC components at this point. I'm hoping to find a solution that can improve the performance without such drastic measures.

If anyone has experienced similar issues or has any suggestions on settings adjustments, driver updates, or other software tweaks that might help alleviate these problems, I would greatly appreciate your insights and recommendations.

Tools. Use them. Disable Spectre and meltdown mitigations. And use CPU Balance to let your CPU breathe a bit.

You're the one who doesn't want to upgrade, and those two things are probably the only things that could help you get a few % performance.

very weak pc yeah.  and you don't say anything about settings...?

 

So lower settings, even resolution... i can imagine it would run acceptably at something like 480p/lowest settings,  for example.
