Can anyone get hard evidence on this?

A friend has posted this article in my Discord tech channel, and I was wondering if anyone had some hard facts on this or not? If so, isn't Microsoft breaking Anti-trust laws, and couldn't this get them in some hot water with the FTC?

I just did a short readthrough of https://www.investopedia.com/terms/a/antitrust.asp and I don't see how having a subscription based OS would violate any of the anti-trust laws. What are your thoughts?

I think this is awful! No one in their right mind is gonna go for this! Heck Apple doesn't even do this! I really don't understand what Microsoft's problem is. They're racking in enough money as it is right now, why they deem this necessary is beyond me. Not only that, but streamers, gamers, content creators, and media/audio/video people like me can't afford this but I also can't switch to Linux because a great majority of my software requires the use of Windows. I'm so sick of Microsoft and the shit they're trying to pull. But I hope this is false and not actually true.

I get so tired of rumors around tech. It's utterly disgusting. Thanks for sharing this. Hopefully, this remains true that it was only a rumor.

Save the outrage for when anything is official. Even then, you don't need to subscribe for many years. 

 

I bet MS at this time isn't even sure. Who knows, they may spread a false rumor just to test reactions.
