Is uTorrent that bad?

I am just learning that uTorrent is considered garbage among torrent enthusiasts for "bloatware" and adding a bitcoin miner into the program. Does anyone know if this is still the case?

 

I cant say i have ever had any issues with it but im open to try better torrent programs if people have some insight.

 

Im hearing qbit torrent is good or better so please...guide me.

I've used it in the past since for whatever reason it worked for providing port forwarding without having to use a router. I didn't actually use it for torrenting much, but on the occasions I have it was OK. 

 

For everything else though, just use Transmission. It's just better overall, easier to use interface, much less bloat, etc.

Basically utorrent is seen as adware these days as it basically is that.

 

Currently qbittorrent is one of the most highly recommended as it does everything utorrent does but BETTER.

@jaslion @WereCat I didn't know utorrent was that bad, I've used it with barely any problems since forever, the only problems were download speeds, which I'm not sure were caused by the utorrent itself

Utorrent does have issues there. I recommend you get qbit and see. Worst case enable secured connections only as that gets around speed limits usually but does lower seeder count (it will go unsecured if no secured seeds found).

It’s been a while since I had any use for a Torrent client but even then uTorrent had gone to shit. qBitorrent is fantastic, however. Reminiscent of true old school uTorrent when it was super light weight.
