Just Got A 3070 in 2023. Was I too late to upgrade? Should have I gotten 40 series or 13th gen intel instead on 11th gen.

If you're playing at 1080p I'd say you're fine but I would defo not buy this system in 2023. In 2021 or 2020 fine but not now

Just Upgraded from a Ryzen 5 1600 and a 1060 6GB to a i7 11700F and a RTX 3070. Should I have purchased this for $1500 in 2023,

Intel Core i7 11700F + EVGA FTW3 ULTRA GAMING RTX 3070 OC + 32GB DDR4 3000Mhz RAM + ASROCK Z590 Steel Legend WIFI 6E + Razer Hanbo 360mm AIO + Corsair RM850X + Deepcool CH510 Case + Acer Nitro XV271 280hz Gaming Monitor

It's a good card it just suffers in some new games due to only having 8GB of VRAM.

$1500? What did you buy for $1500?

a i7 11700F and a RTX 3070

Neither of these choices are ideal, but as with everything, it comes down to price and availability.

No. You could have gotten 13th gen with a 3070 for that price. This is why you ask THEN buy not the other way around. You got ripped off a bt

What exactly did you buy for $1500 ? Just the GPU or the GPU and the CPU ? What about the rest of the computer?
USD or some other currency?
If it was just the GPU. You could royally ripped off.

GPU and CPU ? Ripped off as well.

Whole PC ? .... Still ripped off.

Even if it was $1500 CAD, the CPU and GPU by themselves are about $650 together (used on ebay. Don't buy old hardware "brand new", if you're going to be paying the "old hardware tax", may as well get the latest stuff instead). A motherboard, RAM, PSU and storage doesn't add up to $1500 CAD.

If it was USD.. Oh man... Sorry for your loss. Hope you enjoy the computer though. Stupidly overpriced, but at least it should work.

I don't really get the question.

The card's capabilities are what they are. There is no mystery about what kind of performance it can deliver on 2023. Cards don't get ripe and then go bad like fruit or something. If the card meets your needs at a price you're happy with then get on with your life.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Your PC will work and perform just fine in basically all games and it should last you at least a couple of years without problems.

The problem is that you payed full price for a CPU & Mobo that is already 2-2.5 years old.

$1500 would have been a good price for a 13th gen CPU and RTX 3070.

But with an 11th gen CPU then it is maybe $200-$400 too much.

I would want to know the full spec of AIO, RAM, PSU, Case etc...

Most pre-built PCs can look good "on paper" if you only look at the major components like CPU & GPU.

But very often these PCs can have very cheap or under sized coolers, PSU, Mobo and RAM that can affect the performance of the PC.

And I am also curious about is how much of the $1500 is "build/installation fee".

Well at least these are not undersized...

But they are also overkill for a non-overclockable CPU like your 11700F.

There is nothing wrong with your PC and it will work just fine in just about anything you use it for.

I don't want you to feel bad about your purchase but to be honest I can say that you overpaid for this PC.

For starters the CPU is 2 generations old.

The CPU is also non-overclockable so using a Z590 board is unneccssary and expensive.

How much you could have saved by using a B560 board is unclear because prices for these boards has increased since they have gone out of production.

Retail price for Razer Hanbo 360 is about $250-300 which is about $50-100 more than similar coolers.

And when you have a "non-K" series CPU like 11700F then you don't need a big cooler like this.

A simple tower cooler for $40 would have been enough.

Or a 240mm AIO for $100 would have been a much more sensible choice compared to a 360mm AIO.

CPU: i9 9900K   Cooler: NH-D15   RAM: Kingston Fury 4 x 8GB 3600MHz CL17   Mobo: ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F   GPU: ASUS 3080 TUF   Case: In Win D-Frame   PSU: Corsair HX850i   Storage: 250GB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (OS), 500GB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (Games), 2TB Crucial BX500 SSD (Storage)   Monitor: Samsung Odyssey Neo G9.
