I need some help!!!   im runnging a MSI GTX 780 REF. with 3770k,  corsair ax 860 80 plus PSU and my GPU has random power spicks (observed in MSI afterburnner) and then the screen goes black while the audio breaks. If it does this, it sometimes returns to normal and says Kernal driver has crashed and recovered or the screen stays black and i have to reset the system.  This is only durning gameplay and it happens across all games. Also when i need to do driver updates i have to use a third party driver removal tool (display fusion) because Geforce exp. always freezes while uninstalling old drivers but works fine when installing the new ones once the old ones are removed.  WHAT DO I DO TO FIX ANY OF THIS???   I'v heard of reinstalling windows or do I contact MSI for an RMA since newegg 30 Day has expired?

Any help will be great. Thanks!

unistall all msi and nvidia stuff from your computer that have to do with your graphics card. before that set the oc setting to normal/default.

once everything is unistalled reinstall the latests nvidia driver. then try a different oc tool like gpu tweak or its evga counter part. see if you are still having the same problem. if you are RMA THE S.O.B.!!!!!!!!!!

if you are reading this you are wasting valuable time and should maybe rethink your life choices.

Fully uninstall and then reinstall all of the drivers on your computer for the video card. Then reinstall them. If that doesn't work, do a clean install of Windows again.

To be honest, I agree with Josh.  The most hassle-free way of identifying a software v. hardware issue for me has just been to do a complete reformat and reinstall.  Then, without changing anything else, I install the latest drivers for the hardware I'm suspicious of.  No anti-virus, no fancy pants software, just the OS, Windows Updates and necessary drivers.  If it's happening during gaming sessions, install the game you noticed the problem with.  If it still does it, it's very likely a hardware issue.  Of course, I'm assuming that you've already done your research to make sure other people aren't having an identical issue specific to a certain game.

For instance, when BF4 crashes, I don't troubleshoot anything.  I just chalk it up to EA/Dice selling early access products as final releases.

"For every one hundred men you send us, ten should not even be here.  Eighty are nothing but targets.  Nine of them are real fighters - we are lucky to have them. They the battle makes. Ah, but the one...one of them is a warrior and he will bring the others home." - Heraclitus, 500BC
