Well, what about the rest of the processes? Does it add up to 16gb?

So for some reason, my ram usage suddenly just skyrocketed to near all my 16gb and I have no idea why, I tried to turn off every other app and even my background apps like steam or medal and even with 1 Chrome tab open I still have an extremely high usage of it and its really bothering me (my pc keeps lagging and freezing), any idea why it happens and how to  fix it?

Don't belive I downloaded anything too recently to when the computer started lagging, I dont really remember. I've downloaded some things after but it was already lagging before I downloaded it, but to be safe any good antiviruses?

Malwarebytes is the one I've used the most and had the best success with.

Malwarebytes, as @Crunchy Dragon recommended.

You can use Microsoft Defender too and just do a full system scan.

How about booting up in Safe Mode? Still the same results?

What is safe mode and how to I boot up with it?

Go to Settings>System>Recovery>Advanced Startup and restart.

Then, go to Advanced options>Startup Settings>Restart. From there, IIRC, it should give you the option to enter Safe Mode. Check RAM usage there and see if there's still a problem.

Safe Mode?? No it won't reset your PC as long as you follow those directions. Safe Mode simply boots the OS in a state where no drivers are running so you won't have internet access yet. There are other Safe Modes that do allow internet access that allow those drivers to run.

i'd consider a tour on startup tab to find unnecessary software run at startup.

Not English-speaking person, sorry, I'll make mistakes. If you're kind, maybe you'll be able to understand.

If you're really kind, you'll nicely point that out so I will learn more about write in good English.  🙂

Restart the PC. It should go back to a normal boot. How's the RAM consumption in Safe Mode?

So thanks to @Blue4130 I decided to check the other processes that were hogging up ram (should've done it in the beggining lol) and it was mostly just like service hosts or smth and I decided to search it up and I find this: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/service-host-applications-eating-up-memory/1182c7e9-64ff-41ca-bd2b-ecfdfe1d2b7b

and according to one of the solutions was to update my pc, I attempted that and it worked! I also told my younger cousin about this and he said smth along the lines of this "My pc lags after awhile if you dont update windows so usually updating it fixes it".
