Ryzen 9 7900x down to $350

Not sure if this is the right place but the 7900x is currently down to $350 on both BH and Amazon if anyone is looking for a good deal on an AMD CPU.

Unfortunately driving to microcenter is not an option for me right now, but that would be a great deal if you wanted the Strix motherboard! I am personally not looking for an ASUS because their VRM cooling and bios is not great compared to other manufacturers at the price point.

Yes, its well known that the VRM is crap on those Prime boards, but that has nothing to do with the board in question above.

I'd add the 5600X3d deal as well, to save $100 if that matters.

 

Also, I am upset that Newegg has the 7800X3D for $381 and MC still has it for $419.  They need to do their "MC thing" and undercut the world!

I bet they will but I am trying to stay strong.  Going from 7700X that's running well with -30 all core, to a 7800x3d?  I want it, but do I need it?  No

I'm in a similar boat, contemplating picking up that 7800x3D to replace my 7900x simply because I want to. Certainly don't need it!

That's very true, it just makes me less willing to buy their products, even if most of them are great. If driving to microcenter was an option I wouldn't hesitate to get an Asus with how good that deal is, I just wouldn't buy one at full price.

I debated picking up an X3D instead but I need single core performance. Maybe you can use that to justify hanging on to your 7900x (even if you don't need the single core)?

Certainly and odd outlook on things, but hey you do you. The prime boards have forever been crap but their other products are some of the best you can buy. This has been the case for many, many years.

I think their products are great. It just bugs me that they tried to hide the problems with the VRMs by sending the reviewer a different version of the board that was power limited to not exceed 100 degrees. Obviously you shouldn't expect much from a board that cheap, but it seems a little deceptive to me.

That's a 300 dollar motherboard that is super nice with a great vrm. I just got that bundle. For 550 I got a top tier b650e motherboard 64gb of ram and a 7900x. I'm sorry but you can't beat that deal tbh.
