What is major difference between GPON,EPON & XPON?

They are just different technologies for a telecoms network to use to create a passive optical network.  Some may have better latency than others but a shorter range, or allow more customer on a single fibre, have more bandwidth, etc .  There are tons of results on Google if you want more information.

 

In most cases an end user doesn't buy a ONT, its provided by your telco/ISP as they have to authorise it for connection to their network.

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz)
WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz) Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~800Mbit down, 115Mbit up)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

As long as both have ethernet ports, it shouldn't matter.

 

What might matter is WAN-to-LAN speeds. You might get a sustained 100-300Mbps on budget routers if that's what your internet connection speed caps out at. But something with a better CPU will be needed for gigabit fiber, for example.
