Floatplane and Youtube Question

To make things clear, there's 3 premium memberships that are being brought up here:

  • Floatplane. All LMG content, all BTS, first chance on new merch, LTX tickets etc., downloads, no ads or sponsor spots (except on WAN).
  • YouTube Premium. Platform-wide, no ads, offline playback, background play on mobile.
  • LTT channel membership. AFAIK, only LTT extra content (?), no ads (?), monthly merch offer.

I don't know much about channel membership, only that's per channel.

If i am subscribed to floatplane (which i am) do i get access to the youtube membership or do i have to subscribe to the membership to get the youtube stuff. i am pretty sure the content is the same on youtube and FP but was just wondeirng

FP membership is paid to LMG. YT membership is paid (ultimately) to Google. Draw your own conclusions 🙂

You don't get access to the YouTube Membership as that is handled separately. They've also explained on a WAN show in the past that the goal is not to provide YT specific stuff that wouldn't be available on Floatplane from my understanding. Floatplane will be the primary source for early access and behind-the-scenes content - it may spill into other channels (like YouTube Membership) but Floatplane is the primary.

To my understanding didn't floatplane get 100% of the content and youtube less? So in theory you get better value if you pay for Floatplane.

Floatplane gets more content than youtube.

 

There's a number of behind the sccenes / extended videos that YT doesn't get at all.

But YT Premium gets you a lot more stuff from other people than FP will with just LTT.

YouTube membership to LTT isn't supposed to give you anything that FP doesn't.
