but you can knock them out. Its hard to know without knowing what's the board but it looks like one capacitor got ripped with its surface mount pads. That is painful to service properly.

But you install the board backside into the case. And that smd is very close to a standoff. It's very easy to bump on the way down. Take off your tinfoil hat, msi is not sabotaging you.

should actually be like 3 minutes for someone who knows what they're doing?

whole area looks botched/damaged, impossible for us to say if it was op doing some "mods" or msi qa, or msi sabotage ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Take many pictures before you send it off in future concerns on a rma. This is for proof. Otherwise, no one can take your word that it was you, MSI, or the shipping company that was transporting it.

Other than that,   I am unsure of what you want us to say. I am sorry for your bad experience.

mostly might try to fix the board myself and take the $20 USD i used in shipping as a tech support fee as if thats the only thing in the board i can probably fix it myself might just bridge that part see if it works or take a resistor off of a damage board, if i knew that was damaged i would have saved myself $20

this board was bought off ebay, but also the case i put it in was an old Emachine case with raised metal standoff, i mean the board barely functions under gaming load and randomly restarts

ebay

ok, but how is that msi fault then? get a refund from the seller/ebay.

clearly someone tinkered with this board and msi should not be made responsible for that (and, they wont)

This is good info to have in the original post, and quite possibly the entire issue you're facing.

You gave no information and then just blame the manufacturer, while holding this back?

You bought a used board off Ebay from someone you have no idea where they got it, or how they used it, or whoever before them, etc.

I mean sometimes throwing a b**** fit I actually helps when dealing with an RMA I mean the board work just fine for the longest time without any issues so I had no reason to suspect eBay but once I get home I'm going to actually test the swapped motherboard

They don't even need to give you an rma, you bought it from ebay. So you are not the original purchaser and generally, warranty is non-transferable.

When someone threw a fit with me back in the day Idid the absolute minimum required and spent absolutely zero extra effort to get them off my hands as quickly as possible.

On the other hand, nice folks who wanted to chat and treated me like a human being got royal treatment and if even bend the corporate rules to help them out.

That may not be what the typical person does in tech service, but it’s probably a good rule to live by if you want to get anything other than the minimum.
