Windows 10 Freezing when Idle

Hi,

 

I'm trying to determine what causes my PC to freeze/lag at random when idle. I managed to open task manager in attempt to see what is going on in the screenshot below.

I need help determining if is it a hardware or Windows 10 issue.

Lets kick off the hardware being bad first. Try to boot it in Safe Mode.

Booted into safe now. What type of test should I perform?

Hello!

You said it was freezing at idle right? In safe mode is it still doing that? If not then the issue has something to do with windows and software. Maybe an app in the background? If it’s still happening it’s more likely that you’re having some sort of issue with your hardware.

That was my point yeah. You could try to do an offline DISM repair with a fresh Windows ISO, or just straight up do a clean install of Windows to dodge the whole issue of it being software.
