@CPotter You know, you could have done so much more with less video's if you'd included the various live streams Linus did throughout the years. Never mind the (almost) weekly 2-5hr WAN shows 😉

Giant Bomb dot com did something similar a while ago called Giant Bomb Infinite. They use Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/giantbomb8) and With 5 minutes left in a video they start a poll on their website for members only with 5 random choices for the next video. Users vote for the next one and it continues and it continues forever. (the 8 in the channel name is like a vertical infinity symbol).
 

It's super cool, and I love the idea. Its very handy when you're looking for something to watch, but your indecision is getting in the way.

This is dope! perfect to just have on in the background. One thing I think would be dope is if new videos and livestreams are integrated into it, so when a video goes up on LTT it also plays on stream. Though that'd potentially take views/adsense away from the actual post with the video. Since y'all are testing a new feature maybe y'all could suggest to YouTube a way to integrate videos or Premieres into active livestreams in a way that it actually contributes to that video's analytics, but I imagine that wouldn't be trivial. Having the system be able to contribute to specific video analytics would be dope.

Is this running at LMG HQ as a live stream to YouTube, or is it a playlist running on YouTube's end?

 

If it's the former, yesterday I info-dumped about some possibilities this opens up if you treat it like a "real" OTT streaming TV channel:

I haven't watched the WAN Show segment about LTT TV yet, so I'm not sure if it's basically a playlist that's playing back on YouTube's side.

I feel like all these examples would be fairly easy to accomplish with CasparCG, which is free, but they are apparently using a built-in youtube function to generate the stream so I doubt they have much control over what goes on the screen besides the choice of videos

When you tap on a creators icon on any recommended video, normally it would bring you to their channel, but since LTT is live constantly now, it'll just take you to the stream, rather than the LTT page.

 

Some people might just stay for the stream, but more people would likely leave. This could hurt analytics and mess up their algorithm performance to see a bunch of people hop into the stream and leave immediately because they were just trying to get to the channel.

My initial request, though not sure how achievable, is to have the publishing date of the original video in a corner during the LTT intro, fade in fade out kinda thing, just to reinforce that some things stated as facts (which they were at the time) have become less true over time. "Fastest CPU for gaming" or "best value" come to mind, but again I am not sure what the workflow is for the live stream.

And a minor complaint, specifically with the wife PC build-off. I feel that with Bitwit Kyle saying he will be moving from the tech industry, he wants to leave that behind him, divorce and all. I just felt weird seeing everyone there, though I don't think most people really care.

 

 

Edit: I forgot to say it would be very helpful if in the chat whenever a new video started, there was a bot that messaged the name of the video and maybe that could include the publish date if that would be easier to implement.

honestly not a fan since it constantly shows up on my main page so I cannot see when a new video is out and It keeps suggesting while scrolling random videos. Maybe its just me but if there was a way to have would be better imo....

 

I wait to see blue dots for new videos and its constantly showing new ltt live stream but its just the silly TV thing instead of a live event which is nice to tune into to listen to while working. Not a fan of the constantly live tv...

I also made an account to mention this. I've been watching comfortably for many years, but the live status is really annoying.

 

To find out if a new video has been released, I can now click on the channel every 14 days (or something like that, if I think about it) and unsubscribe so that LTT isn't always there with the live-stream information.

Youtube chat on the 24/7 stream is funny AF. Users actually think Linus is live. If this becomes a regular thing there should be a way for LTT to disable chat (if there isn't already, IDK).

There is, and it was at first until Linus overruled that and had it turned back on. He explained it on the WAN show on July 7th.

Here's an idea.  IF you could rig up one of those AI generated "forever" streams of AI generated LTT.  Just for Lulz.  Like train it on all these videos, feed it LTT Labs data on various products and generate LLT forever reviews.

Really enjoying LTT-TV but I just noticed that you failed to edit out the sponsor talk about a Anker bluetooth speaker in the "This Epic Studio Tour Almost Killed Me!!" video.

I might be experienced, but I'm human and I do make mistakes. Expand for common PC building advice, a short bio and a list of my components and other tech. I edit my messages after sending them alot, please refresh before posting your reply. Please try to be clear and specific, you'll get a better answer. Please remember to mark solutions once you have the information you need.

 

Common build advice: 1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

PCs are one of my hobbies and I've built many PCs and performed upgrades on a few laptops (for myself, friends and family). My personal computers include 3 windows (10/11) machines and a TrueNAS server (and I'm looking to move to dual booting Linux Mint on my main machine in future). While I believe I have an decent amount of experience in spec’ing, building and troubleshooting computers, keep in mind I'm not an expert or a professional and I make mistakes.
