I would take the聽AW3423DWF as a sort of standard pricing聽Alienware AW3423DWF 34.2" 3440 x 1440 165 Hz Curved Monitor (AW3423DWF) - PCPartPicker

starting to get mainstream yet

Not at all (at least compared to LED) as it's a fairly new tech (mostly introduced in TVs around 2 or 3 years ago) and while OLEDs are pretty new in monitors they have been in TVs for a bit longer

Basically, are there any a reasonable consumer could buy if they are around 1440p and 90hz?

Most are high refresh rate (more like 165hz) and around 1000 dollars. So not really reasonable but I've seen one in person and it is pretty stunning (basically like a OLED but defo gets brighter)

Hi,

If you guys don't mind me asking, where about are we now with QDOLED in monitors? What are some standard prices and are we starting to get mainstream yet?

Basically, are there any a reasonable consumer could buy if they are around 1440p and 90hz?

Thanks 馃檪

i sold my AW3423DW its the Alienware QD-OLED Ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio 175hz refresh rate

the picture quality is the best OLED but i dont like ultrawide 21:9 so i got the Lg C2 instead its a

4K 16:9 WOLED just because i like 16:9 Aspect ratio.

This is the one I bought.聽 I noticed Microcenter's website was showing several open-box ones at my local store. They have the individual pricing there as well. I went in store and the employee happily offered to open them and let me inspect.聽 The very first one had all original packaging, wires never unwrapped, protective stickers all exactly in place. It looked like a buyer's remorse kind of return, and it saved me $200 and I still got full return policy and warranty.聽

from my own experience and other users/reviewers i don't expect the monitor to go without some type of physical defects/burn-ins for more than 3 years. This is just a guess and it's only been a year, but imho wait for a generational update. ultrawide is only 2-3% of the monitor market so it'll never be mainstream, gotta take what we can get when it checks many of the boxes. It's unlikely they'll release a version with lower refresh rates.聽

I think a big reason why monitor manufacturers were very hesitant to implement oled monitors is because monitors inherently have static imagines on them like windows task bar. You don't have the same issue with tvs because there are very few if any static imagines on a TV unless you are dumb and leave the tv on a static image like a netflix menu or something else.聽
