LG OLED FLEX - on sale for $1530. Is it worth it or just go for LG 42 C2 and save $550???

As the title says - is the FLEX da shit? I have a change to buy it at a 45% but the offer ends next week. Is it worth it or should I see if C2 drops back to $900 and save the money?

The Corsair version of the flex is 1440p and the LG version is 4k. If you’re able to game at 4k, I would go with the C2 or C3 models and save all your money for the GPU. The flex is a cool concept, but I don’t think it’s worth the asking price.

As a C2 owner that got it on sale for $799, no way I’d pay $1500 for the flex model.

That depends entirely if you'll get any value out of the curved screen. I'd probably not pay an extra $500 for it. All the other specs are the exact same. You should also know that the FLEX cannot be wall mounted.

Flex seems like a rip-off for a gimmick you will almost never use, get a monitor that you like the curve for half the price

Flex is a fun thing but the 1440p make me skip as 45" is too big for 1440p.

 

As the price is it worth? Definitely not me.

You're mixing up the models. The LG OLED FLEX is a newer 42" 16:9 120Hz TV.

 

Not the 240Hz 1440p 21:9 45GR95QE.

If you care for the curve at all, it's not a bad buy. Being able to adjust the curve to your liking is a sick feature plus it's an overall brighter OLED in HDR (and also much brighter in SDR.) I do think it's worth the 500 buck premium but only if you care about any of these upgrades and features. 

 

But if you prefer flat screen for the all or even the majority of the case, then I would just get the C2 while the stock last. 500 buck is quite a lot and the upgrade is very marginal otherwise (not to mention that you may be able to find the C2 for even cheaper than that)

Thing is the FLEX is more expensive and you can pretty much guarantee its going to break much quicker if you adjust the curve often.  I guess if you ONLY game on it and never need to adjust the curve it might be okay, but I'd be waiting for the panel to break every time I adjusted it.
