Difference between gateron yellows?

johnt

Gateron's naming convention is awful. Scratch that. All mechanical keyboard switches have awful naming conventions.

I didn't know how complicated it would be to purchase key switches for my keyboards. Can someone explain the difference between these two products? I understand Amazon is partly to blame here.

I get that it's two different sellers, and slightly different quantity (one seller provides 2 fewer switches, but charges more).

Wtf am I missing? Why does one cost twice as much as they other?

Kind of just seems like they're upcharging for no reason, since it's around ~$30 for about 100pcs from most other websites.

Some store will try to sell it more expensive, some store not.

Some stores will give a big price cut, be it to sell a bit of old / leftover stock, or to gain potential regular customer, or to gain better view chance when potential customer sort by price or something.

From what I've seen, and as far as I'm concerned. They are the same switch.

Whether one of them will pack the stuff better/worse than the others, or whether or not they will stay true to what they said about their packaging though, I don't think even the holy beings knows.

You don't miss anything here. Gateron Yellows are basic tier switches, very good, and can be bought outside Amazon for half the price. Clear housing gives a bit more RGB light.
