OP was "Not sure if 500W will be enough" therefore we're talking about Kill-A-Watts. Stick the new graphics card in and see if it a) runs and b/) goes anywhere near, for example, 400W when gaming... could even run furmark... I think it will go to about 280W running p95 and Furmark...

 

(OFC if you don't have 8+6-pin you could probably still use adapters but I'm shocked a 760 needs all that)

500 watts will be fine. Get a Corsair or Seasonic (TX or higher for Corsair), and you'll be fine.

No, you wouldn't. If your peak wattage is 450w, that means it wouldn't go higher than that. If the psu can handle the system at peak, I don't see the need for more for anything but efficiency.

More overhead isn't needed. 

A system that's running fine at peak load already has whatever overhead it might need.

hmm, a bit of stretch IMO.  If you got a good 80+ gold one you'd be... well, Golden I assume. 

Pretty sure 460w will be fine. People on PCPartPicker have run a single GTX 770 with 450w. A 760 requires less power, therefore, I think you're safe.

Your 460W is already more than enough.

 

A GTX 760 based system with an overclocked CPU will peak out at 330W with an average number of fans and HDDs included. Overclocking the GPU does not add much more. Don't bother buying a new PSU at all.

 

Edit: ok just went through the loads of bickering to find on page 3 you don't have the required 8+6 pin, for future reference, edit your OP when new info comes to light.

Do all GTX 760s require 6 and 8 pin power inputs?

 

I've seen different brands or models of the same brand with differing power connectors a few times. 760 power requirement doesn't sound like it justifies that many pins to me.
