What would you buy as a used gaming laptop?

I'm pondering buying a used laptop to play games on for the next couple of years.

I have never really been much of a laptop gamer, so all I know about mobile GPUs and their related performance is that it can vary greatly from machine to machine, even if they have the same spec, and mobile GPUs aren't really a direct apples to apples comparison vs their desktop counterparts.

That said, if you wanted to play a variety of games over the next couple of years (nothing competitively), what GPU would you be aiming for? 2070? 2080 Super? 3060? Or splurge on something with a 3070?

Obviously the 3070 will be the most powerful with the greatest chance of lasting, but I'd rather spend closer to 3060 money or lower.

I would get something like this because it has a fully powered 3060 at 115W and a great panel https://www.amazon.com/Asus-15-6-Strix-Laptop-144Hz/dp/B0BLYLP63G?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&smid=AVY78AJDCWNYB&th=1

I hit 700W on an i5 with a NHD15

Also I'm 14 so please just confirm anything I say with someone more experienced

Probably a little too new to find anything like that on the used market, and it's like $1,700 Canadian, which is over twice what I planned on spending.

8GB of RAM is fine, I have a 32GB stick I can pull out of my current laptop.

I Would buy at least something with an RTX 3000 series (3060 or up) to use at le ast DLSS 2.

On CPU Side a 6-Core/12 Thread Ryzen 5000 or Intel 11th Gen up is fine. preferably 12th Gen on Intel, but that might be too new.

GPU is more important for Gaming, and a few % CPU differences in min-fps/avg fps are not that important if the Display can use Freesync/G-Sync.

The best spec you can have for smooth Frames is Freesync/G-Sync.
