editing software

Go to solution Solved by SquintyG33Rs,

simple and feature rich is not really compatible...

i'm assuming you mean video editing (because just editing can be anything)

go get davinci resolve. free, pretty much equivalent to premier/final cut/sony vegas. none of those are simple thought.

for simple... I got my grandfather to use the OG windows movie maker. there are also web and tablet focused video editors now that target simpler experiences for baby's first tiktok upgrade. (Clipchamp by Microsoft)

does anyone have a recommendation for a free simple yet also feature rich editing software which i can run on a leptop with an 8 gen i5 and the internal grafig?

Does not compute.

Pick any two and try again.

Davinci Resolve.

Honestly... it's really easy to use for basic stuff despite it being a robust SW for pros and studios.

I myself use Shotcut and it's pretty good for a free software, it even has hardware encoding for exporting. Although it still pins my CPU to 100% and the encoder on my GPU maxes out at like 60% at best, but still, at least it uses hardware encoding. I can usually export at around 1 min 30s of video per minute or 2 minutes of video per minute

I've been using Kdenlive for a while, and I definitely recommend it. It's simple enough to start doing basic editing very quickly, and is free and open source. It feels similar to Sony Vegas Pro and performs well too.
