What do you guys think of this offer?

Hey guys,

was just wondering if this is a good offer. Thought it would be a good price for the GPU, but I don't know too much about PC party myself. Anyone able to help?

Thanks!

Edit:

Thank you so much for all the replies - you've been very helpful.

About the CPU: Is the 5500 good to go for another few years, or should I upgrade it to i.e. the 5600X? Or am I better off with a completely different build then? I was just thinking that this chipset is pretty old and I cannot upgrade it that much. Am I thinking it wrong? Again: I am not good with PC parts myself, sorry!

It looks like a pretty good deal. They cheaped out on the motherboard and the SSD while throwing most of the cost into the graphics card.

Prices like this remind me of the 3070 prebuilt that Dell threw into one of their PC's. People bought them for way less than what this prebuild cost, shucked them, and resold the GPU's for a profit. Some got greedy and tried to sell the prebuilt as well.

Anyway. The price looks fine if that's all in.

Quickly building a similar pc over here, it comes to about slightly more than the prebuilt, but i personally dont really like that they picked a lower end motherboard, didnt specify what ram they have and got a case which doesnt have much airflow.
Overall: not bad for the price

it seems like a pretty good deal, (which goes against everything i know about prebuilds). if your games are CPU intensive and the mother board is of-the-shelf then update the bios and throw a 5600 or even a 5800X3D in there. also make sure the RAM is in duel channel. if its not then just get another 16GB stick of ram and put it in there

You don't get what's in the pictures, those show a higher end motherboard

You get the white version of that case, if the description is correct, and you get an A520 motherboard that's really light on features (only 4 usb 3.0 5gbps ports and 2 usb 2.0 ports, gigabit lan, old alc887/alc892 audio)   and the Ryzen 5500 is not particularly good value either, it's not as good as 5600 or 5600x  - 5500 is a 5600g with graphics disabled, it's "Cezanne" family,  5600 and higher is "Vermeer" - and 5600 and higher have 2x the amount of cache and that helps with games.

SSD is kinda bad, some average QLC based drive... slower and slower as it gets full.

You'll probably have to spend more to get some better parts, unless you're just browsing.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

It's not a terrible offer if you don't like building the PC yourself. RTX 3070 8GB still goes for around 500€ i think. Adding another 350€ for the rest of the components and the labor seems fair.

It comes without OS though, so you'll need to buy a windows license if you don't have an unused one lying around. [there's keys on ebay too *wink wink*]

This will crush that prebuilt, not only a 6800xt over a 3070 but the components are better too so better mobo that isnt barebones garbage, better rams thatll let you max out the cpus performance when you tune em to 5000 or as close to that as possible, also a 1tb ssd rather than a puny 500gb

Link for the 6800xt red dragon, gpu is used but remember miner gpus > gamer gpus cause gamers abuse their gpus (no undervolt, suffocating gpus in hotbox cases, letting them clog with dist, even smoking around the pc)

You won't find a red dragon 6800 XT under 600€ in germany though.

So that config would be more like 1100€ without assembly, time and possible warranty shenanigans with each individual seller instead of one company that's responsible for customer service and assurance.

Over here a 6800XT is 752eur. A 3070 is 563eur

It's fair, same on DIY is 850EUR as well, and your prebuilt will come built and guaranteed 🙂

Memory PC usually has good build and shipping quality .

There's a lot of low end parts tho : case, board, SSD, PSU (certainly), just be aware of that

Im talking used since new gpus are a ripoff unless you are either buying lowend last gen (6600 6700) or current gen (7900xtx 4070ti 4080 4090)

Used is still around 100€ more expensive than whats listed on pcpicker sadly.

With the lack of warranty and "gesetzliche Gewährleistung" i wouldn't recommend a used GPU from a private seller for OP since they seem to be new to the desktop hardware space.

Very good deal.

Othersd have stated low-end mobo and SSD, etc...  I would not think much of any of that.  low end motherboards still have to work, and it's not a performance oriented part.  They warranty the system, so the motherboard wilkl work, and if you are buying a prebuilt PC, I assume you're not going to be monkeying with it in a way that would need any higher-end motherboard.

RAM is RAM, it will run as it is expected to.

The PSU will have to put out enough wattage to power the system, and if there is an issue with power it will be covered under warranty, as they designed the system.

For a 3070 this is an insanely good deal for a prebuilt

Keys on ebay and Amazon are notorious for being the wrong key, or worse.

Go for the non X if you want that, but youre really getting just a cache upgrade from it especially considering that it "costs" 38 euros extra on that configurator. But there are performance to be gained on stock operation between the 5600 and 5500.

Sure, but this is a prebult.  I would say that the 5500 is still plenty fast for gaming with a 3070.  If I were picking a new CPU, sure, I'd prefer the 5600, but with a prebuilt that already comes with a 5500, I wouldn;t think it a big enough deal to justify buying a whole nother CPU.

Yeah thats my point. I just dont see reasons to go with the upgrade on prebuilt when the price to performance doesnt make any sense.
