Memory always 80% + without doing anything

Hi!! My memory is always showing 80% plus without doing anything. I have attached screenshots of what applications are running at the time through the task manager. please help me

Although usually even chrome doesnt take as much. I always have at least 10 Chrome Tabs open, running F@H, Win7 (of course) and i think i have 1gb for my EVO and i'm at around 60-70% with my 8gb.

all i did was install all the drivers and all this stuff opens without me opening anything.

I made a thread a few weeks ago, I am still having this problem too, sometimes in task manager it says I am using like 2gb of ram as a user, but somehow im using 90% of my 8gb sat at the desktop

 

might do a full windows reinstall

Lol... Chrome takes up 11.8gbs of ram outta the 16gbs I have.... so many tabs...

Especially if it's right after booting without opening anything and having 14 gigs of ram? I know Windows has memory issues but not THAT bad.

you sure you got 8 gigs... open up performance manager 

 

or add peak memory usage under columns

It's not a bad thing. RAM not being used isn't doing anything. Windows 8 has Superfetch, which fills your RAM with potentially useful applications so that its faster. You can disable it, see here. http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/disable-superfetch-windows-8/ 

Try it and see if it makes a difference.

 

But remember, RAM sitting empty literally is doing you no good. It can clear nearly instantly if you need it, and it's setup so that if you need that RAM, it clears and you can use it.

Try run a virus scan with Malwarebytes, also.  Go into the BIOS and make sure all memory is detected, run a memory test with memtest86.

Look at all those processes. They are less than 100 and the one using the most ram is chrome with 77 mb. The number drops very quickly to about 3 mb. Suppose the average was 10 mb (and it's less) and the processes 100 (and they are less), you would still be using less than 1gb. Assuming the ram was installed correctly and you're on a 64bit system (you are right?), there is no way you could actually be using 80%+ memory.

 

Conclusion: your task manager bugged out, my dear Watson.

Have you found any solution to this? What was causing it in your case? I'm searching for the cause of basically the same problem on my 8.1 machine.

Other than I was running Windows 8, no cause found. Or solution. Sometimes just restarting it would work but it would still end up showing a rediculously high memory usage from time to time.
